I SEEK MY SELF

  The 1st house, an Angular house, is the house of the Self and is naturally associated with the Masculine Aries, a Cardinal Fire sign, and its ruler is the Aggressor Mars which also co-rules Scorpio, a Fixed Water sign, placed in my 6th house.  Mars, in conjunction (5 orbs) with my Venus, is placed in my 7th house in the sign of Sagittarius, a Mutable Fire sign whose ruler is Jupiter.

     The Rising sign/Ascendant is the filter lens through which the Sun, the Moon, and the planets come in to play. The Ascendant distinguishes the different variables in disposition, temperament, psychic, and even physical appearance in persons born on the same day, but at different times. My Ascendant denotes the way I look at life. Often, it's the impression of "me" perceived by those around me. Because Gemini is my Rising Sign and its natural ruler is Mercury, Mercury is also the planetary ruler of my entire natal chart.

 Gemini is naturally associated with the Masculine, is a Mutable Air sign, and its ruler is the Messenger Mercury which also rules Virgo, a Feminine, Mutable Earth sign placed in my 4th and 5th house.  Gemini also influences my 12th house at the tail's end. 

     Life is never the least bit dull with Gemini in my rising position because this sign produces a personality that is so witty and clever. Unfortunately, the nature is also anxious, high-strung, and diffusive. With this lively sign on the rise, I need steady mental stimulation. This is because I have difficulty with stagnation. I want to keep myself surrounded with people, activities, and exciting situations. I am happiest when I am busy and engaged in a variety of activities. Gemini is a mental or air sign and I am by nature very active mentally. I identify with ideas and consider myself essentially a mental person.

  I am generally friendly and adaptable, but at times I can be temperamental and a little indecisive. Although I appear confident, inner assurance is not a natural trait. My disposition is good when I can manage to stay calm and serene.

  I am a wonderful conversationalist, and many natives of this sign become writers, reporters or active in some phase of communication. Mercury is the ruling planet of my horoscope since Mercury is the planetary ruler of Gemini. Like the metallic chemical mercury, you are slippery and like quicksilver, extremely hard to pin down. Gemini is clever. I can outtalk, outthink, and outsmart most people I encounter and I give all due respect to those who can handle the challenge.

  Physically, I am agile and well coordinated. Nervous activity keeps me slender. My enthusiasm for change is a trait that makes my perpetually young and progressive of mind, even as I grow older and experience my second half of life.

  The symbol for Gemini is the Twins and this symbol depicts a duality in my nature. There is a tendency to be somewhat fickle. I can handle more than one job at a time. I tend to dart from one topic to another, from one task to the next, in and out of relationships. I am a collector of trivia and random information. With a Gemini Ascendant, I may indeed be a walking encyclopedia.

  Wise Jupiter naturally rules the Masculine Sagittarius, a Mutable Fire sign, and is placed in the Feminine Cancer, a Cardinal Water sign whose ruler is the Motherly Moon.  Jupiter also co-rules Pisces, a Mutable Water sign, and is placed in my 10th and 11th house. 

     Jupiter is the planet of expansion and abundance. The house placement of Jupiter shows the area in which I am likely to think positively and optimistically. In a general sense, things work well for me in the house that Jupiter occupies. Nonetheless, there can sometimes be too much of a good thing in this house.

  Jupiter in the 1st house implies that this planet plays an important part in shaping my personality. This can be both good and bad, depending on how it's handled.  A 1st house Jupiter is broad-minded and optimistic. I focus on the brighter side of life. I am honest, trustworthy, and benevolent, and for these, I am generally well liked and popular. On the negative side, Jupiter here can make one too self-indulgent, extravagant, or conceited. Being the planet of expansion, I may have to deal with a weight problem in my older days. This position increases my self-confidence and gives me a somewhat dignified manner, especially as I grow older. I am likely to have strong religious or moral convictions at times and this gives me the capacity to become an authority or a leader in whatever field of endeavor I select. This may be especially so in activities relating to religion, education or social development.
