The Planetary Bodies
My Aggressive MARS - Planet of
Passion
The sign in which Mars
resides in my birth chart shows the expression of my energies. It's naturally associated with Aries
and Scorpio and its natural homes, the 1st and 8th Houses of Self and Death. Masculine
Mars, the 4th planet, takes 687 days, almost 2 years, to move through the 12 signs of the zodiac
spending 57 days in each as it completes its solar orbit so it, and all other outlying planets, can
reside in all Zodiac signs.
Mars
suggests the projection of my Self. This planet is connected to the sex or erotic drive, so its placement shows my
approach to matters of pursuing the She of my world. The key element of Mars is assertiveness and its placement in
the different signs qualifies and quantifies this trait. Because of this Mars has much to do with the projection of
my personality.
The Mars
position suggests whether one's expression of energies are going to be largely physical (fire signs Aries, Leo,
Sagittarius), material (earth signs Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn), mental (air signs Gemini, Libra, Aquarius), or
emotional (water signs Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces). Mars residing in my Sagittarius confirms my fiery physical
expression of my erotic energies.
In Greek (Roman) mythology Ares (Mars) is the god of war and
in astrology the similarity is the same. In the various Zodiac signs, the nature of how I deal with people is
modified and clarified by Ares (Mars). With Mars in a different sign than that of my Sun, the
character of the Sun is often challenged by the warrior tug of Ares
(Mars).
Mars, God of War, in Sagittarius
explained...
At my birth, October 31 -
Halloween, my Aggressive Mars resided in my 7th House of Marriage and in Mutable Sagittarius,
the Fiery 9th sign of the Zodiac, at 20 degrees and 07 minutes and in a Peregrine
state.
In
Sagittarius, Mars often produces strong philosophic convictions. I am one to stand up and defend a cause I believe
in. At times, I may possess very strong patriotic or religious ties. My idealistic motives seek to be improving
society and those individuals in my immediate environment. I have a tendency to scatter my energies and try to take
on too much at one time. Because my attention span is short and my interests are many, I start many projects, but
often fall short of finishing them.
I am an outspoken debater, sometimes lacking diplomacy
or appreciation of the opinions of my opponents. Nonetheless, my ever-cheerful presence makes me welcome in most
social gatherings. For me it is unrestricted freedom with a rhythm and tempo that comes naturally to me. I am a
person with a zest for adventure, having a good time, and enjoying life to its fullest. I have trouble sitting
still for very long and I want to be on the move physically. This placement often produces excellent athletes of
which I generally am.
The hallmark of this position is the feeling that I am
invincible. My irrepressible confidence and optimism usually gets me through tough times. I may have been born
under a lucky star. I often succeed because I don't think much about failing.
Mars in Sagittarius is not known for being particularly
constant in love relationships and it's hard to tie me down to one person although luck and age have modified my
perspective. I may have been afraid of serious love early in my life and being "trapped" in a relationship, but in
the second half of my life I cherish serious love.
Mars has been observed in the Heavens since ancient
times and in 1576 Tycho Brahe was able to make accurate calculations about its
position. My Mars resided in Sagittarius from October 4, 1965 through November
14, 1965.
